When a company is created in Procountor, a basic chart of accounts based on the Finnish Financial Administration Union's basic account scheme is automatically generated for it.
You can browse the chart of accounts on the Chart of accounts view by expanding and collapsing individual accounts using the +/- signs.When an account group or account is active (row displayed in blue), you can use the arrow keys to move up and down in the view.The right arrow expands the selected group of accounts while the left arrow closes it.
Edit chart of accounts
You can add and delete accounts or change their names by clicking on the Edit chart of accounts button.Clicking on the button will open the Edit chart of accounts view.
Adding an account
First, select the account group to which you would like to add the account, such as 3000 Sales.Click on the account group name and it will turn blue.Then, click on the Add sub-account button and enter the account’s name and number in the New account window that opens.The account number is always four digits long.Commas or semicolons may not be used in account names.Finish by clicking on the Continue button.The added account will initially be displayed as the last account in the group, but will move to the correct position after you have saved the changes by clicking on the Save button.Please remember to save your changes before leaving the Edit chart of accounts view.If you make many changes to the chart of accounts at one time, you should save your changes every now and then.
Editing an account
Begin by selecting the account whose information you wish to edit.Click on the account name and it will turn blue.Click on the Edit button next.Make the desired changes in the Edit account window that opens on the page.Commas or semicolons may not be used in account names.Please note that the name change made to the chart of accounts will be applied retroactively, and the new name of the account will be also updated in reports from previous financial periods.
Once you have finished changing the account name, click on the Continue button. Please remember to save your changes before leaving the Edit chart of accounts view.If you edit an account that is in use, i.e. its balance is not zero or it is the default account of a product or customer, the program will notify you of this. You can dismiss the notification and save the changes by clicking on the OK button.
Select the account you would like to delete.Click on the account name and it will turn blue.Click on the Delete button next.Please remember to save your changes before leaving the Edit chart of accounts view.You cannot delete accounts from the basic chart of accountsor accounts in use, i.e. an account whose balance is not zero or that is the default account for a product or customer.
Default chart for new environments after Procountor version update November 17 2018
During Procount's version update in November 2018, some new accounts were added to the default chart of accounts. These accounts will appear in new environments and changes have not been made to existing environments in Procountor:

Printing the chart of accounts
Clicking on the HTML button will open the report in HTML format in a new browser window, from which you can print it out or save it as a file.You can keep the window open during posting, giving you access to up-to-date information from the chart of accounts.
You can select all accounts or accounts used to be displayed on the HTML export.Accounts used refers to accounts that contain transactions or that are used as default accounts.
Clicking on the Excel button will export the entire chart of accounts to Excel in CSV format.
Real estate and association accounts
You can order a chart of accounts for real estate companies or associations from Procountor by sending an e-mail to email@example.com.This action will affect the chart of accounts and accounting reports.

From the summer of 2007
