You can copy an invoice on the receipt's Invoice view, by clicking on the Edit button and selecting Copy. For example, you can copy sales invoices into sales orders or purchase, travel or expense invoices into a template for a sales invoice.
When you enter a new invoice, click on the Edit button and select Copy.In practice, this function is most often used to retrieve an existing invoice and create a new one by copying it when you are about to send or receive a similar invoice. You can change the invoice’s Receipt type and Business partner when you copy it, i.e. you can copy a purchase, travel or expense invoice into a template for a sales invoice.Sales invoices can be copied into sales orders and purchase invoices into purchase orders.
The Invoice information pages of all receipt types, regardless of status, include the Copy option.
If you do not change the Receipt type or Business partner when the invoice is copied, the copy will be an Unfinished invoice identical to the original, apart from the invoice number, bank reference code, invoice date and due date. In purchase invoice bank refernce code will not change.
If you change the Receipt type or Business partner, the row information will be taken from the original invoice and the remaining information from the register. You can edit the invoice at this stage.Choosing the Business partner option “Original, update information from registry” will copy the invoice with the same business partner, but retrieve the business partner information from the business partner register.
The Copy option can also be useful for creating credit invoices.
